SIVASAGAR: The sixth full-fledged executive meeting of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) was held at Sivasagar Yuva Dal Auditorium on Sunday. Several important resolutions were taken in the executive meeting chaired by AXX President Dr Kuladhar Saikia.

The names of the next president, vice president and chief secretary of Axam Xahitya Xabha will be announced in the seventh executive meeting by the end of November this year and an election committee was already formed under the chairmanship of former justice Biplab Kumar Sharma. This was disclosed by the president Dr Kuladhar Saikia.

Dr Saikia also said that the Xabha will give a suitable platform to the new generation as well as to focus on digitalizing and using state-of-the-art technology.

AXX vice president Mrinalini Devi in her speech said, "We are constantly striving to attract the new generation to the Axam Xahitya Xabha. We have been working day and night to take this largest national institution in Assam forward. We are not eager for any post. Only the president cannot do all the work of the Xabha alone. All the officials and executives under the leadership of the president, have to unitedly take the Xabha forward." "As a general worker of Axam Xahitya Xabha, I will continue to serve for the development of Assamese language and literature for life."

During the members' discussion, some members raised a reference to the financial anomalies allegedly committed by former chief secretary of AXX Dr Jagdish Patgiri. Some members also expressed anger over the buzz that Patgiri, who is involved in the alleged financial anomalies, will be the presidential candidate this time.
