AXX president Kuladhar Saikia refrains from commenting on Miya Museum controversy

Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) president Kuladhar Saikia has ruled out any comment on the recent controversy arising over setting up of a Miyan Museum at SrimantaSankardevKalakshetra.

DIBRUGARH: Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) president Kuladhar Saikia has ruled out any comment on the recent controversy arising over setting up of a Miyan Museum at SrimantaSankardevKalakshetra.

While participating as chief guest at a function organized at the regional centre of AXX here for felicitating literary and artist pensioners of Dibrugarh district, in his deliberation said, Saikia said, "The issue of setting up Miyan museum at SankardevKalakshetra has risen with a motive of getting political mileage. Hence, AXX will not get involved in such a political controversy by passing any comment on such issues."

Saikia further stated that AXX was the voice of Assamese nationalism which had been engaged in the process of making a greater Assamese society and its prime aim was to enhance progress of the State through assimilation of all races and indigenous communities in the State.

Welcoming the new generation's active participation in various activities of AXX, Saikia said, "It is of course a good sign and will certainly rejuvenate the AXX with spirit and new ideas."

Later, Saikia participated in the inauguration of a book-selling counter set up at AXX regional centre here and also formally released five books. On behalf of AXX, its president KuladharSaikia felicitated State Government's literary and artist pensioners GauriSaikia, BidyaBhushanDeori and Nomal Chandra Deori of Dibrugarh district.
