Ayush Garg takes charge as new Baksa Deputy Commissioner

Ayush Garg, an IAS officer of 2016 batch, took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Baksa from outgoing Deputy Commissioner Ranjan Sharma on Wednesday evening.

BAKSA: Ayush Garg, an IAS officer of 2016 batch, took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Baksa from outgoing Deputy Commissioner Ranjan Sharma on Wednesday evening.

Outgoing Deputy Commissioner Ranjan Sharma has been transferred after one-and-half years of service as Deputy Commissioner of Baksa. He will be joining as Additional Secretary in the Chief Minister's office at Dispur. New Deputy Commissioner Ayush Garg was the Deputy Secretary in the Finance Department, Government of Assam before joining here.

After taking over charge as Deputy Commissioner, he held a review meeting with the Health Department regarding management of COVID-19 pandemic situation in the district. In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Garg took stock of the availability of medicine, medical staff, oxygen and number of positive cases in the district. He advised for the less use of ambulances for asymptomatic cases.
