Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Bijli Mahotsav celebrated in all 773 districts of the country

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence

LAKHIMPUR: As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate 75 years of India's Independence, the Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India celebrated Bijli Mahotsav in all the 773 districts of the country from July 25 to July 30 under the theme, Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya-Power@2047.

In Arunachal Pradesh, MoP in association with Department of Power, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, NHPC and different district administrations has been organizing the Bijli Mahotsav in all the 26 districts of the State. NHPC has been nominated as State Nodal agency for 6 States including Arunachal Pradesh.

In tandem with the celebrations, a Bijli Mahotsav was organised at Silli Village in Lower Siang district on July 25 which was graced by Kardo Nyigyor, MLA 28- Likabali(ST) Assembly Constituency as chief guest, Deputy Commissioner of Lower Siang, Marto Riba as guest of honour and Vipin Gupta, Executive Director, NHPC as special guest. In his lecture Kardo Nyigyor lauded the officials of power sector for creating a sea change in power scenario of the district and the State as a whole. He highlighted the benefits of organising such events and said that initiating such events would not only help create awareness but bring across various achievements of the Government to the forefront.
