Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Kokrajhar to celebrate Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya

KOKRAJHAR: Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. As a part of the celebrations, the Ministry of Power, New and Renewable Energy is organizing events to celebrate the collaboration between the State and the Central Governments and highlighting the key achievements of the power sector under the umbrella of 'Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya –Power @ 2047'.

Accordingly, APDCL, Kokrajhar Electrical Circle along with the district administration, Kokrajhar and Powergrid is organizing events to commemorate the occasion. Events have been planned on July 28 at Kathalguri Community Centre of Salakati and on July 29 at Kashibari, Dobgaon Playground and the Grand Finale Celebration on July 30 wherein the Prime Minister of India will interact with the beneficiaries of Harinaguri Pt.- II of Panbari, which is the village selected from Assam for the interaction.

In Kokrajhar district, 402 villages/ habitations have been electrified under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) new scheme. Under this scheme, 302 transformers have been installed, 11 KV line of 165.496 KM and Low Tension (LT) line of 767.277 KM have been constructed and 14075 households (On Grid and Off Grid) have been benefitted. And in Saubhagya Scheme, 1068 number of villages/habitations have been electrified.
