Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme organized in Nagaon district

With the theme “Achievements @ 75: Transforming Lives and NABARD’s contribution in Assam,” Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) programme was organized at RUDSETI-Nagaon campus by DDM-NABARD, Rajendar Perna for the benefit of around 75 participants from various SHGs and FPOs functioning in Nagaon district.

NAGAON:  With the theme “Achievements @ 75: Transforming Lives and NABARD’s contribution in Assam,” Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) programme was organized at RUDSETI-Nagaon campus by DDM-NABARD, Rajendar Perna for the benefit of around 75 participants from various SHGs and FPOs functioning in Nagaon district.

These participants were guided by DDM-NABARD, Rajendar Perna, DAO-Nagaon, Ranjan Deka, LDM, Khurshid Alam Ansari, DRCS, Biswajit Chakravarty; RUDSETI-Director, Sanjib Borkataki etc. During the programme, DDM-NABARD, Rajendar Perna made a detailed presentation regarding Genesis, Vision and Mission of NABARD. He briefed the participants regarding the Credit, Financial, Supervisory, Developmental functions of NABARD including the role being played by NABARD in successfully implementing and monitoring centrally sponsored schemes like formation and promotion of 10000 FPOs, agriculture infrastructure fund, computerisation of PACS, largest grain storage project in cooperative sector, statutory inspection of regional rural banks and cooperative banks etc.

He also spoke about pan-India successful interventions launched by NABARD like preparation of potential linked credit plans (PLPs), SHG-bank linkage programme (SHG-BLP), Eshakti, watershed development programmes (WDF), integrated tribal development programmes (TDF), policy formulation of Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs), Model Millets Projects (MMPs), support to Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) of small and tenant farmers, capacity building training support through programmes like micro enterprise development programmes (MEDPs), livelihood and enterprise development programmes (LEDPs), skill development programmes for rural youths and jail inmates, projects pertaining to climate change, promotion of FPOs or OFPOs, support for creation of infrastructure through funds like rural infrastructure development fund (RIDF), NABARD infrastructure development assistance (NIDA), rural infrastructure assistance scheme (RIAS), grant support for establishment of rural haats, rural marts, mobile vans etc.

He also shared information about various projects under implementation by NABARD with active support and cooperation from district administration and all the line departments in Nagaon district like Watershed, ITDP, RIDF projects, MMPs, Biofloc fish farming, Eshakti, MEDPs, LEDPs, SDPs, RHs, RMs, MVs, FPOs, computerisation of PACS, establishment of centres for financial literacy (CFLs), exposure programmes etc.
