Karimganj: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief, Maulana Badruddin Ajmal said that the alliance between Congress and AIUDF is 100 per cent guaranteed.

While addressing a party meeting in Karimganj, Ajmal said that the two parties will formally announce their alliance after the Congress President Sonia Gandhi's signal.

The AIUDF Chief said that the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) had a brief discussion with Jitendra Singh, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary in-charge of Assam. Singh is on a seven-day visit to Assam.

Ajmal is sure that the Assam Congress party has definitely made their points clear about the alliance. Both the parties are now waiting for Sonia Gandhi's nod for the alliance by signing all the required documents.

"By December, the paperwork will be done," said Ajmal. He further said that they will soon come up with the official announcement of the grand alliance.

Earlier in October, Ajmal mentioned the alliance formation between the two parties when he visited former Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital to take stock of his health.
