TINSUKIA: The Baghjan crisis deepened further after tripartite meeting held at the DC's conference hall on Friday between Baghjan Gaon Milan Jyoti Sangha, Oil India Limited (OIL) and Tinsukia district administration failed without any solution coming up.
The affected families of Baghjan inferno blocked the roads leading to BGR well no 5 and EPS (Early Production System) since Thursday which resulted in complete halt to the oil production unit. The activists of the Sangha announced that the blockade would continue indefinitely till compensation issues were resolved according to the formula they had suggested.
For the new Deputy Commissioner Diganta Saikia who assumed office only on Wednesday, Baghjan issue will be his biggest challenge with the affected families of Baghjan who established temporary relief camp in front of the DC's office, refusing to vacate the place till they receive adequate compensation.
