Baghjan oil well fire: 11 Affected families receive compensation

A total of 11 families whose dwelling houses and properties were completely gutted in the BGN 5 Baghjan

TINSUKIA: A total of 11 families whose dwelling houses and properties were completely gutted in the BGN 5 Baghjan oil well fire were given compensation of Rs 20 lakh each, cumulating to Rs 2.20 crore, by the Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, Bhaskar Pegu in presence of Sanjay Kishan, Minister of State for Labour and Tea Tribes Welfare, senior Oil India Limited (OIL) officiasl and ShiladityaChetia, Superintendent of Police of Tinsukia, in a programme held at DC's office Tinsukia on Saturday.

The affected families who have been accorded the compensation on the basis of recommendation of the Assessment Team are- PapulChutia, son of DineswarChutia, Ritu Moran, son of Lobheswar Moran, HorufulPenging, wife of Arabinda, Deep Saikia, son of LombheswarSaikia, Amal Saikia, son of LombheswarSaikia, Bikash Saikia, son of Amal Saikia, Sahadev Moran, son of Phukan Moran, Hementa Moran (Umi), son of Phukan Moran, Lakhindra Moran, son of Phukan Moran, Munu Mura, son of Joy Masi and LabanyaSaikia, wife of JoynathSaikia.
