Bajali Police arrest three chain snatchers in Pathsala

In a major crackdown, Bajali police arrested as many as three persons who were allegedly involved in the recent board daylight gold chain-snatching case in Pathsala

PATHSALA: In a major crackdown, Bajali police arrested as many as three persons who were allegedly involved in the recent board daylight gold chain-snatching case in Pathsala town under lower Assam's Bajali district. Sources said, the accused reportedly snatched chains on bikes from victims walking on the streets. The accused persons have been identified as- Ratul Kabarta of Mushalpur in the Baska district, Inush Ali, Babul Ali from Batua in the Barpeta district.

Based on a follow-up procedure and source information, the Bajali Police led by Dharmendra Das, official in-charge of Pathsala outpost with the help of Mushalpur Police, successfully arrested the gang of robbers from various parts of Bajali and Baska districts. They also recovered two-wheelers used for the crime and mobile phones from them.

Dharmendra Das, in-charge of Pathsala out post said, "During interrogation, the arrested persons admitted to being involved in the various gold chain-snatching cases that occurred in the town recently. Further investigation is going on."
