PATHSALA: In a bid to spread awareness against drug addiction and depression among the people, a youth from Assam has undertaken a herculean task to walk to Guwahati. He will cover a distance of 100 km.
Khanin Roy, who hails from Pathsala town in Bajali subdivision (now declared as Bajali district), started his journey from the Omala Ghar Porhashali premises at Pathsala at around 9.30 am on Saturday.
“Depression and drug addiction have forced youths to take extreme steps. The youth of today must not restrict themselves to the virtual world and pursue activities like swimming, cycling, walking, and Yoga to stay spiritually awake and mentally and physically fit and active,” said Roy.
He also runs a wellness center – Brain and Figure in Pathsala town. Earlier, Roy had inspired students to take cycling tours to spread the message about drug addiction and depression in Assam and he even swam across the Brahmaputra in 45 minutes in 2016 to draw the attention of the people.
