GUWAHATI: On Thursday 27 January, the city police officials arrested a Bangladeshi national man from the Guwahati city of Assam.
The man has been identified as Mohammad Sohail Rana, a resident of Dhaka in Bangladesh.
According to reports, the man from Bangladesh was first apprehended by the local people at the Japorigog location of Guwahati.
The locals came to know about the identity of Rana and later they handed over the man to the police.
As per sources, the man has arrived from Dhaka of Bangladesh to Assam's Guwahati two days ago and was residing in the city hiding his identity as a Bangladeshi national.
In his possessions, the police have found his identity card that reveals his true identity. They also recovered Bangladesh currency from the man along with the ID card.
However, the question of whether the man entered the state of Assam through an illegal process is not yet cleared.

The Bangladeshi nationals are often found migrating to different states of India with fake identities as illegal immigrants. Bangladesh immigrant problems have become a major issue across the country.
In a recent incident, a 27-year-old Bangladeshi woman was caught living illegally in the Indian state of Karnataka. She has been detained by the Karnataka police as per the information provided by FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office).
According to reports, the woman identified as Roni Begum was residing in the boundary areas of Bengaluru for long 15 years. The Muslim woman changed her name into a Hindu name as Payal Ghosh to live with a Hindu identity and then she got married to Mangaluru resident Nithin Kumar.
The woman came to India at the age of 12 and use to work in dance bars in Mumbai. She was caught while travelling to her native country to attend her father's funeral. On being suspicious the Immigration officers seized her passports and arrested her after finding that she is an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh.
