Bank officer Hemanta Bora dies of Corona in Bhopal

Hemanta Bora (48), Deputy Zonal Manager, Allahabad Bank, Bhopal died of COVID-19 on Friday in Bhopal.

DOOMDOOMA: Hemanta Bora (48), Deputy Zonal Manager, Allahabad Bank, Bhopal died of COVID-19 on Friday in Bhopal. He hails from Bharat Bhumij path, Doomdooma and is the son of late Shiva Prasad Bora and Chitra Bora. He is an MBA in Finance and was a voracious reader. He became a bank officer at an early age of 21 years and after serving five years as Assistant General Manager (AGM) he rose to the post of Deputy Zonal Manager of the Bank because of his brilliant professional performance. He took Covaxin on April 6 along with four of his colleagues. Yet he tested COVID positive on April 15. He was advised by doctors for home quarantine and was given medicines. But as his condition deteriorated he was hospitalized after five days on April 21 for further treatment. But he succumbed to his death after two days. Incidentally, four of his colleagues who took the vaccine also predeceased him. On receiving the death news his brother-in-law noted film director M Maniram flew to Bhopal and Bora's last rites were performed there in his presence by observing COVID protocol. His death has cast a pall of gloom in his native town Doomdooma and many organizations including Doomdooma Press Club, Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha condoled his death.
