Barpeta police nabbed two thieves

The people of Barpeta have been troubled by thieves for the last few months.

BARPETA: The people of Barpeta have been troubled by thieves for the last few months. On February 20, a gang of thieves did theft in the Sita Ram Mandir at Barbazar, Barpeta.

On Wednesday, two thieves were arrested by Barpeta police. On Thursday, the police nabbed a gang of seven thieves who were involved in various thefts in the Barpeta area. The police recovered an amount of Rs 80,788 from them. A case was registered at Barpeta police sadar police station (97/23 U/S 457/380 IPC) and (105/23 U/S 457/23 380 IPC). The arrested persons are - Abhijit Das (19), Dhruba Das alias Bablu (20); Dwijendra Nath Das (37), Ratul Das of Bhakatpara; Mohu Ali and Altaf Hussain of Muslimpatty; and Bikash Das of Dahati.
