DIBRUGARH: Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) has extended an amount of Rs 1.50 crore from its CSR fund to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMC&H) to upgrade the emergency services in Casualty Departments with the installation of state-of-the art necessary equipment.
The BCPL, besides this, also contributed another amount of Rs 1 crore to AMC&H for procurement of emergency equipment for strengthening its medical infrastructure to combat the COVID pandemic effectively. Beside such financial help, the BCPL has also provided oxygen cylinders to AMC&H and to the Government of Assam as per requirement and has been extending necessary support to the local district administration for improvement of medical care in the district.
The company has taken some more initiatives such as distribution of masks and sanitizers among healthcare workers, distribution of face masks among the tea garden workers at nearby tea gardens of BCPL, facilitating for vaccination to the persons from nearby areas at Sukapha Bhavan and measures to create awareness among the people of nearby villages in order to contain spread of deadly COVID virus.
