Bhaben Baruah Award-2021 conferred to veteran actor Nipon Goswami

The veteran actor of Assamese Film Industry Nipon Goswami has been conferred the prestigious Bhaben Baruah Award, 2021 on Saturday at Guwahati Press Club

NALBARI: The veteran actor of Assamese Film Industry Nipon Goswami has been conferred the prestigious Bhaben Baruah Award, 2021 on Saturday at Guwahati Press Club by the Nalbari unit of Asom Jatiya Yuba Chatra Parisad (AJYCP).

Awardee Mr Goswami debuted in the Assamese film industry as a child artist in the movie Piyali Phukan, directed by Phani Sarma in 1957. Since then on both stage and celluloid his venture has been outstanding. His second movie Dr.Bezbaruah, released in 1969 was a chartbuster.

Senior journalist, Nitumani Saikia, AJYCP state president Rana Pratap Baruah , Secretary Palash Changmai, district President Partha Pratim Sarma, Secretary Kaushik Barman and many attended the award giving ceremony. 'Bhaben Baruah Memorial Award has been conferred on Dulal Roy (2009), Guruji Adya Sarma (2010), Biju Phukan (2011), Nilu Chakravarty (2012), Mahanada Sarma (2013), JibeswarDeka (2014), Achyut Lahkar (2015), Dharani Barman (2016), Hemanta Deka (2017), Bidya Rao (2018), Dara Ahmed (2019) and Kulada Kumar Bhattacharyya (2020) previously.This award is comprised of cash 10000 rupees, a seleng sador, a jaapi, a xarai, a souvenir of AJYCP and a citation.

'I am happy and feel proud receiving Bhaben Baruah Award', said Nipon Goswami, the awardee after receiving the award. Nitumami Saikia, in his speech stressed on keeping the authenticity of awards by all strata of organizations and said that only deserving persons should be conferred awards like Nipan Goswami. He thanked Nalbari unit of AJYCP for such a forwarding step.
