'Bhaona-Sabah' organized in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: College of Teacher Education (B.Ed.), Dhakuakhana, under Lakhimpur district, is a prominent academic institution. Affiliated to Dibrugarh University, the college has not been confined to only academic activities but has initiated various attempts to create a healthy cultural environment in the society since it was established in 1998.

As part of such attempts, the college organized the 'Bhaona-Sabah' this year too like the previous years. The event was organized on Tuesday with the active participation of the trainees under the management of Principal Dr. Pradip Chandra Borah and the organizing committee. The main agenda of the event started with the setting up of the thapona and xarai following the tradition. Then the naam-prasanga was held. At night, the faculties and trainees of the college staged the bhaona titled Bipra Damodarar Akhyan, Dantabrakrar Muktilabh, glorifying the Sankardev-created culture. The performances of the artistes involved in the different aspects of the bhaona could manage to attract public attention despite limited facilities. The public appreciated the unique attempt taken by the academic institution.
