DONKAMUKAM: The new office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) West Karbi Anglong District Committee were declared by the president, Radip Ronghang who succeeded Arun Terang at Tumpreng Party Office, West Karbi Anglong. The 66-member strong new committee will be headed by Radip Ronghang and he will be assisted as general secretary by KAAC MAC Pawan Kr Ray. "Party and the government need to go hand in hand," Radip Ronghang said.
Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang, while attending as chief guest, asked all party leaders and workers to work unitedly. "If we work together, we will definitely win four of our Assembly segments in next year's election," Ronghang added. He requested the people of the district, irrespective of their party affiliation, to work together to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outgoing president Arun Terang, who took charge in 1995 till date, claimed that he built the party brick-by-brick to the present form and suggested the committee to work selflessly so that it became stronger and stronger. The declaration meeting was attended by MLA Dr Mansing Rongpi, EMs MS Timung, Rupsing Teron, Prodip Rongpi, MACs Pawan Kumar Ray, Rina Terangpi and many dignitaries.
