TEZPUR: Mangalik bhumi puja was held on Wednesday for the construction of a huge clock tower, in the pattern of the Clock Tower in London, at a height of 45 feet at Tezpur Court Chariali.
The clock tower, which is expected to be constructed at a cost of about Rs 60 lakh, will be donated by Dilip Nath and his brother Babul Nath, prominent businessmen, in memory of their father Manoranjan Nath.
District and Sessions Judge, Chatra Bhushan Gogoi, Tezpur MLA Prithviraj Rava, Deputy Commissioner Bhupesh Chandra Das and other senior officials of the district administration were present on the occasion. During the programme, the two prominent businessmen were felicitated at the end of the Mangalik function.
