Bhupesh Chandra Das assumes charge as Sonitpur Deputy Commissioner

Bhupesh Chandra Das officially took charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur district on Saturday.

TEZPUR: Bhupesh Chandra Das officially took charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur district on Saturday. He was serving as District Development Commissioner, Cachar before joining Sonitpur.

He took charge from outgoing Deputy Commissioner Manvendra Pratap Singh, who has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat. Manvendra Pratap Singh had joined as Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur on September 30, 2019.

The officials and staff of the Deputy Commissioner's office gave a formal farewell to outgoing DC Manvendra Pratap Singh on Friday evening in the presence of senior district administration officials and heads of various departments. The officials fondly recollected their experiences working under him on various occasions and thanked him for his guidance and support for efficient management of the COVID situation in the district in the first wave.

Later, senior district administration officials also extended a hearty welcome to the new Deputy Commissioner. After assuming charge as Deputy Commissioner, Das paid a visit to several Covid Care Centres set up in the district and took stock of the facilities available and also visited Tezpur Medical College and Hospital. He was accompanied by ADC Health Arundhati Mipun Narah and Joint Director Health Services Dr J Ahmed.
