Biennial conference of Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha be held on January next year

The biennial conference of Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha (TZXX) will be held at Balijan-Borjan in January next year.

DOOMDOOMA: The biennial conference of Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha (TZXX) will be held at Balijan-Borjan in January next year. In response to a request by Balijan-Borjan Sakha Xahitya Xabha, a decision to this effect was taken at an extended executive committee meeting of TZXX held at Jugal Kishor Keshan Bhaban, Makum recently with president Arjun Baruah in the chair.

On the other hand, it was also resolved in the meeting to observe Bishnu Rabha Divas under the initiative of TZXX with a two-day long programme on June 19 and June 20 at Doomdooma with active cooperation of Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX).

TZXX further adopted a resolution to implement the 'Aakash' programme in collaboration with Kakapather Sakha Xahitya Xabha (KSXX) in the month of June itself.

The meeting was also attended by Prahlad Chandra Tasha, former president-in-charge of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX). In the beginning, the meeting condoled the death of three former presidents of TZXX, namely Surendra Nath Dahotia, Sushil Kumar Gogoi and Bhabani Changkakati, vice-president Tarun Rajkhowa and others who died during the past two years. On the other hand, the meeting prayed for early recovery of Sahitya Akademi award-winning writer for children literature and former president of TZXX, Harendra Nath Barthakur of Makum who is ailing. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the term of the TZXX also got extended by a year along with the main body of AXX.
