Big Breakthrough for Dhula Police; Fake Note Manufacturing Unit Busted

Two people have been arrested. The Dhula police have now begun a high level inquiry

Darrang: Dhula police busted a fake note racket and recovered fake currencies worth Rs 3 lakh. Acting on a tip off the police busted the fake note manufacturing unit and arrested two people involved in the racket.

"We got a confirmed tip off that few people would be meeting outside a hotel and there would be exchange of fake note amounting to Rs 10 lakh. Acting on the tip-off we arrested the two people who were carrying the fake notes in a bag. We found 600 notes printed on one side and rest were all white papers in the size of notes," one of the police officials who was part of the search team said.

He also said that Zakir Hussain, one of the arrested persons has admitted that he has been printing the notes in his own computer at his house in Borjhar.

The fake note making unit was operating out of a house in Bherbheri village of Dhula. The fake notes were printed only on one side and these were all 500 rupee notes.

Dhula police has now begun a high level inquiry into the matter. Police are now looking into if the fake note printing has been going on for long and who are the other people involved.

Zakir has confessed that there are other people involved in the supply chain.

The arrested persons have been identified as Zakir Hussain and Abdul Quddus of Borjhar village.
