GUWAHATI: Biodiversity conservation and Research organization, Aaranyak's Central Assam Zone in collaboration with Golaghat (T) Forest Division and NSS Unit, Debraj Roy College, Golaghat organised Nature Trail and Bird Watching programme in Nambor Doigurung Wildlife Sanctuary. The main aim of the programme was to develop interest in bird watching and nature trails among students and teach the basics of bird watching.
SK Thakuria, Divisional Forest Officer, Golaghat (T) Forest Division, Ritupaban Bora, ACF, Golaghat (T) Forest Division, Dr. Rajeev Basumatary, Asst. Prof. D.R. College, Abidur Rahman, Manager, Birding & Wildlife tour, Jungle Travels India, Arif Hussain, Coordinator of Aaranyak's Central Assam Zone, Dr. Samrat Sen Gupta, Asst. Prof. D.R. College, Golaghat attended the programme as resource persons and interacted with the participants and briefed about the basics of bird watching, the importance of birds, habitats and habits.
A total of 45 participants participated from NSS unit of D.R. College, Golaghat. Utpal Paul, Beat Officer, Juriuadolong Forest Beat Office, Jafrul Imteaz Ali, Asst. Coordinator, Aaranyak Central Assam Zone, D. Phukan, FGD, Juriadolong, Beat Office, Swagat Buragohain, Member, Aaranyak and Gyandeep Sharma, Local conservationists were also present, stated a press release.
