Birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore observed in Demow Kali Mandir

DEMOW: Under the patronage of All Assam Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (AABYSF), Demow Regional Committee and in association with the people of Demow, the 162nd birth anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore was observed in the Demow Kali Mandir premises on Tuesday.

On the occasion, Rabindra Ghosh, secretary of AABYSF Sivasagar District Committee, paid tribute by offering flowers in front of the photo of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore.

DHUBRI: The birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore was celebrated by Nrityangan, a socio-cultural organization of Dhubri, at its office premises on Tuesday. The hour-long programme was chaired by the president of the Nrityangan, Dr Pratima Neogi while objective of the cultural programme wasexplained by Dhubri District Cultural Officer, Partha Pratim Barman.

The cultural group of Nrityangan presented ‘Kabi Pranam’ by staging song, dance and recitation of poems, which enthralled the hall-packed audience. Prominent among the cultural programmes were poem recited by Nibedita Debnath Mallick, Riddhikha Paul while Rabindra Sangeet was presented by Soma Choudhury and her group and Rabindra Nritya (dance) was staged by the children troupe of Nrityangan and others.

While addressing as the appointed speaker in the meeting held prior to the cultural programme, a veteran academician and social worker, Akhil Bandhu Dutta spoke at a length on the life and works of Rabindranath Tagore. Earlier at the advent of the programme, floral tributes were offered at the portrait of Rabindranath Tagore.
