A CORRESPONDENT
DOOMDOOMA: Under the auspices of Doomdooma college and Bir Raghav Moran Government Model (BRMGM) College, the 147th birth anniversary of Veer Birsa Munda was observed on Tuesday. Dr Atmaram Kumar, Associate Professor of English, Moran college, attended the function held at Kallol auditorium of Doomdooma college as chief guest.
The programme was attended by Dr Bulu Tanti, former Associate Professor, Margherita college, Jhmoir Samrat Padmashree Dulal Manki and the students and the teachers of both the colleges.
In the beginning Dr Amarjit Saikia, Principal, BRMGM College and Principal in-charge Doomdooma college, lit the ceremonial lamp in front of the portrait of Veer Birsa Munda and offered floral tributes. The programme was also observed by Jatiya Chah Sakti (JSS), Doomdooma Anchalik Samity with a day-long programme at Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) Bhaban. In the morning, president Jaydeep Das hoisted the flag and secretary Bijoy Parja paid tribute to the martyrs.
