Biswanath district health department organized awareness programme on anti-tobacco

JAMUGURIHAT: A training-cum-awareness programme on anti-tobacco was organized by the Biswanath district health department at Bhaskar Jyoti Adarsha Vidyapeeth on Wednesday.

Anjurani Bora, headmistress of the school, briefed the objectives while Dr Nripen Saikia, SDMO-cum-anti-tobacco nodal officer placed a database presentation on projector. He explained about adverse effects of consumption of tobacco products on our health. Before the awareness session, an essay writing competition and drawing competition were organized among the school students. At the end of the programme, the headmistress conducted a pledge for all. The programme was attended by Priyanka Kakaty, Dr Dilip Kumar Bhuyan, besides others.
