MANGALDAI: Ratish Chandra Choudhury, a septuagenarian activist of the BJP Mangaldai town committee, a former district-level cricket player and a sports organizer, passed away on Wednesday evening in GMCH after a brief period of illness. He was 72.
He was also associated with several socio-religious organizations including Creators' Unit, Santipara Kali Puja and Durga Puja committees and others. People from different sections of the society, including chairperson of Mangaldai Municipality Board, Nirmali Devi Sarma, Secretary of Mangaldai Media Circle, Mayukh Goswami, local BJP leaders, representatives from Mangaldai Sports Association paid their last homage on his body at his Ward No. 1, Santipara residence here on Wednesday night. He leaves behind his wife and the only son along with a host of relatives.
