BJP-AGP alliance candidates capture maximum seats in Golaghat

The counting of votes for the Municipality Board Election in Golaghat on Wednesday went off peacefully with no report of any untoward incident.

GOLAGHAT: The counting of votes for the Municipality Board Election in Golaghat on Wednesday went off peacefully with no report of any untoward incident. The counting of votes was held in Golaghat Government Bezbaruah HS school campus.

According to the results, 12 seats for the Golaghat MB were captured by BJP-AGP alliance candidates while in Dergaon MB out of 10 seats one is in Independent, another one was won by the Congress party and the remaining 8 seats were occupied by the BJP-AGP alliance candidates.

In Golaghat MB, total votes polled were 18702 and NOTA votes were 259. As per the results, ward No. 1 of Golaghat MB was won by the BJP candidate Nabanita Bora with the total number of 1,344 votes out of 1,841 votes. Ward No. 2 was won by the BJP-AGP alliance candidate Halima Siddika with a total number of 1161 votes out of 1967 votes. Ward No. 3 was won by the AGP candidate Triluttama Saikia with total number of 883 votes out of 2,037 votes.

Ward No. 4 was won by the AGP candidate Satich Ch Barman with total number of 684 votes out of 1,669 votes. Ward No. 5 was gained by the BJP candidate Krishnadhar Gupta with a total number of 2,092 votes out of 2,831. In ward No. 6 BJP candidate Pronoy Jyoti Chaliha won with 1,622 votes out of 2008 votes. Ward No. 7 was won by BJP candidate Krishna Kumar Gupta with 561 votes out of 865, ward No. 9 was won by BJP candidate Simanta Bora with 719 out of 1081 votes, Ward No. 10 was won by BJP candidate Robin Boruah with 1352 votes out of 1620 votes, Ward 11 was won by BJP candidate Dulumoni Borbora with 457 votes out of 733 votes, Ward No. 12 was won by BJP candidate Archana Bora Saikia with 415 votes out of 701 votes and Ward No. 13 was won by BJP candidate Roshmi Das with 1039 votes out of 1349 votes.

Likewise in Dergaon MB, BJP candidates Snehlata Nath of ward no. 1, Ujjal Kashyap of Ward no. 2, Mitali Phukan of Ward No. 3, Subhankar Ghosh of Ward No. 4, Madhumita Bora of Ward No. 5, Nisha Limbu of Ward No. 6 and Rupanjali Bora of Ward No. 9 won in the election by defeated opposite candidates. While Ward No. 7 was won by Independent candidate Dipa Sumani, Ward No. 8 was won by the AGP candidate Dipanjal Hazarika, Ward No. 10 was won by Congress Candidate Sital Sumani.

Under Sarupathar Sub Division in Barpathar MB, out of total 10 wards, 8 seats were captured by the BJP candidate and 2 seats were captured by the AGP alliance candidate. Likewise, in Sarupathar MB, out of 10 wards two seats were captured by AGP candidates and other 8 seats were won by BJP candidates. In Bokakhat MB of Bokakhat Subdivision, out of 10 wards AGP won its 6 seats and the other 4 seats were won by BJP candidates.
