DIBRUGARH: The general election to the Tengal Kachari Autonomous Council will be held on January 20, 2022. The counting of votes will be done on January 22. Today was the last date of the filing of nomination. The Council's lone centre is in Dibrugarh, that is, 22 Merbel centre in Naharkotiya. The candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) filed their nominations before the election officer.
Dibrugarh, Lahowal, and Duliajan MLAs Prasanta Phukan, Binod Bora and Teros Gowala respectively accompanied the BJP candidate at the time of filing nomination papers.
