BJP committed to uphold peace and security in the BTAD: CM Sarbananda Sonowal

KOKRAJHAR: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the Hagrama Mohilary-led BPF government failed to safeguard the life and property of the people of the four districts of BTAD during its 15 years rule and did not take any developmental initiative. The Chief Minister said this while taking part in an election rally at Sithila under Fakiragram constituency of Kokrajhar district on Sunday, stated a press release. Sonowal at the same time urged the people to vote for the BJP candidates in the interest of overall development and transformation of the BTAD.

Stating that the people of the BTAD had to live under constant fear during the BPF rule, the Chief Minister said that a peaceful and congenial environment would help the people of the BTAD to take the districts to greater height in terms of development. He observed that the people of the BTAD would have been able to enjoy the benefits of various Central and State governments' schemes had there been good governance. He further said that misgovernance and corruption by the BPF deprived the people of the BTAD from the benefits of the government schemes and that was why they had now come out in support of the BJP as the party was committed to strengthen harmonious co-existence amongst people of all caste and communities.

The Chief Minister assured the people of the BTAD that if voted to power, the BJP government would ensure lasting peace in the BTAD and optimum benefit of the government schemes by the people. He also said that the BJP government in the BTAD would take adequate measures for providing employment to each family of the four districts besides self-employment avenues for women, guaranteed pension for the old and regular monthly allowance for the divyangs. He also said that the BJP government would consider education as a priority sector in the BTC.

The Chief Minister said that inspired by the Prime Minister's vision, the BJP government in the State had also ensured equal development for people of all communities. He also termed Fakiragram as a place of harmonious co-existence and urged them to keep up the praiseworthy tradition. The Chief Minister further said that following the ideals of BodofaUpendraNath Brahma, MahabirChilarai, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, AjanPir and other legendary figures, the BJP had been working for betterment of life of the people and the society. The Chief Minister also underlined schemes like PM Ujwala, PMAY, Saubhagya, Akashdeep, SwahidKushalKonwar Universal Old Age Pension, Chief Minister's Krishi Sa-SajuliAchoni, KanaklataMahilaSawalikaran, Arunadoi and many other initiatives of the BJP government at the Centre and the State. He assured the people that the BJP government would continue to work for ensuring security of every section of the society and urged the people to vote for the BJP candidates. Sonowal also said that the BJP government had taken sincere steps for ST status for six communities of the State.

BJP's State president Ranjeet Kumar Dass, vice-president PulakGohain, and other leaders were present in the election rally. Later, the Chief Minister also took part in an election rally at Saraibil in Kokrajhar district and campaigned for the BJP candidates.
