HAFLONG: "The BJP government is misusing the Enforcement Directorate (ED), CBI or Income Tax Department. And hence only opposition party leaders are being selectively targeted," said State president of Assam Trinamool Congress, Ripun Bora in response to questions posed by media persons about the recovery of Rs 20 crore in cash from the house of a relative of West Bengal Trinamool Minister Partha Chattopadhyay. Bora was talking to media persons after opening the door of the district office of Trinamool Congress at Mahadevtila in Dima Hasao district headquarters, Haflong.
Ripun Bora arrived in Haflong on Saturday. He also inaugurated the Trinamool district office at Mahadev Tila in Haflong. He then participated in the staff meeting organized at Haflong District Library. Around hundred people joined the Trinamool Congress there.
Ripun Bora said, "Trinamool Congress made its debut in the hills barely three months ago and within three months the party is advancing by leaps and bounds with more than 150 members in the Dima Hasao district. The common people want a strong opposition."
