KOKRAJHAR: Altogether 239 people, mostly from SC category, of Kokrajhar who were supporters of UPPL and BJP, joined the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) through a meeting held at Bathou Complex here on Monday. BPF president Hagrama Mohilary felicitated the newly-joined members with traditional Aronai.
In his speech, BPF president Hagrama Mohilary said that development works had been affected due to imposition of Governor's Rule in BTC. He said the BJP, being an alliance partner, should have supported the BPF in the council election. But instead of doing so, the BJP was trying to capture the BTC administration through the RSS. He, however, said that the alliance between the BPF and the BJP in State level was on the right track.
Mohilary said the BPF would form the council government by winning at least 25 seats in the ensuing election. He ensured that his government would work for the development of all communities and not play dirty politics like the UPPL. He also said that all people of BTC who had come before February 10, 2003 would get land rights and pattas. He called upon all to work together for the peace and development of the region.
