Blood donation camp organized at Pengaree High School premises

DIBRUGARH: NSS Digboi College Unit, in association with 18 battalion of Garhwal Rifles, All Assam Gorkha Students' Union (AAGSU), Pengeri regional committee, Red Cross Society, Alumni Association and IQAC unit of Digboi College, organized a mega blood donation camp at Pengaree High School premises recently.

Around 75 donors attended the entire blood donation process conducted by the blood bank of Assam Medical College and Hospital. The programme started with felicitation of the distinguished guests following strict COVID-19 protocol.

SDO (Civil) Margherita, Polash Rajkumar Ahom, Commanding Officer Col. KSH John Singh, 18 Garhwal Rifles, Captain Dr. Chandini Appte, RMO, Dr. Riddhi Langthasa, Medical Officer- cum-Senior Resident, and other dignitaries spoke on the occasion regarding various aspects of blood donation. The Department of Zoology of Digboi College also started testing the blood groups of the donors, which was done by Deep Borah, a lab technician of the department under the leadership of Rajib Rudra Tariang of the college.

Polash Rajkumar Ahom, SDO (Civil) Margherita, also lauded NSS Digboi College Unit for making this event a success. He also thanked 18 Battalion of Garhwal Rifles for all logistic support.
