Numaligarh: Two residents of Kamargaon-Haahsora village under Kamargaon police station, accordingly- Sagar Bhuyan (65) and Amrit Hazarika (23) have lost their lives on Friday morning. While they went out on their boat searching for grass for their cattle, both died after their boat capsized. According to their family members, both went to gather grass for their livestock at around 8 AM. There was havoc in the vicinity after a few hours when someone from the village had noticed the capsized boat. Police was informed and rescue operation was carried out with the help of local people.
A team of SDRF also reached the spot, but it was too late. Two bodies were recovered by the police with the help of villagers. After this incident, there is now a deep pall of gloom among the people of the area. It can be mentioned that most of the riverside parts at Numaligarh are underwater more or less since the last two days. Flood situation may worsen as heavy rain continues in most parts of the state.
