UDALGURI: A Bodo short story book 'Gothai' written by eminent writer Nabin Malla Boro was released at Udalguri amidst a literary function. Nandeswar Daimari, a prolific Bodo writer has released the book and congratulated the writer for his contribution to the literature. He also described the distinctness of his writing.
Nabin Malla Boro who had begun his literary journey through a short story in 'Jalaishree' magazine in 1975 has published more than 14 books of various genres to his credit. He has received the child literary award from Sahitya Akademi in 2010, Someswari Brahma award in 2004 and the Udalguri district Bodo Sahitya Sabha has awarded him the Mangalchandi Brahma literary award as a recognition of his literary contribution.
The government of Assam has also awarded him with the State Teacher Award in 2012. The literary session was presided over by Dr. Nareswar Narzary, the HoD of Bodo department of Udalguri College.
Earlier, noted poet Dr. Devakanta Ramsiary lighted the ceremonial lamp. National award winning poet Baidyanath Upadhyaya elaborated the life and writings of Nabin Malla Boro and outlined the regulations to be maintained by the writers' community.
