Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) launches Giyan Swrang Bithangki and Onsai Bithangkhi schemes

KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) under the leadership of Pramod Boro has launched several schemes for medical treatment of BPL students and poor women vendors under Giyan Swrang Bithangki and Onsai Bithangkhi, for which the Health department will release Rs 10 lakh in each constituency to support healthcare and medical treatment in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) region.

Briefing media persons at the conference hall of BTC secretariat on Saturday, the spokesperson of BTC, Arup Kr. Dey, who is also EM, along with Wilson Hasda, EM, and Madab Chetry, MLCA, said that the Pramod Boro-led council administration had launched several schemes for the welfare of students and female vendors for healthcare in the region.

EMs Arup Kumar Dey and Wilson Hasda said that the BTC government had launched Gyan Swrang scheme under the education department where 9,200 students were getting opportunities from the BTC government. They said that the Onsai Bithangkhi scheme was also launched to extend financial support to the 9,200 BPL women vendors of the region or healthcare.

EM Wilson Hasda said that the health department would release Rs. 10 lakh in each constituency for support healthcare and treatment in the BTR region. He said the ambitious Giyan Swrang Bithangki scheme aimed at helping financially-weak students in various parts of BTR and poor students are expected to benefit from this first-of-its-kind initiative in BTR. He also said that the EMs and MCLAs had been distributing Rs 5,000 each for a student under Giyan Swrang in their respective constituency. The scheme is a dream of BTC chief Pramod Boro.

EM Arup Kr. Dey said that the BTR government had been emphasizing for the welfare and development of the society and accordingly, the new government had been working for all-round development keeping peace and integrity among all sections of people. He said the BTR government was gearing up for bringing massive changes in every sector.
