Bodoland Territorial Council signs MoU with Azim Premji University

KOKRAJHAR: The ceremonial signing of the MoU between the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the Azim Premji University (APU) was held in the conference Hall of 3rd Floor, BTC Secretariat, Bodofa Nwgwr Kokrajhar, BTR on Saturday which was chaired by BTR CEM Pramod Boro along with EM Arup Kr. Dey, EM Dhananjoy Basumatary with Manoj P., Registrar of Azim Premji University (APU) and his team.

The BTR CEM, in his speech said, "Any kind of developmental activities were lagging behind earlier as our place was a disturbed area. But now the situation has improved after the signing of several Bodo accords. Since peace and harmony among the people are being seen in BTR, so, first of all we have to develop the education sector. That is why today we are signing the MoU between BTR Government and Azim Premji University (APU). Now we are planning to train teaching staff of all schools and colleges of BTR."

The Azim Premji University's School of Continuing Education and University Resource Centre is focused on developing, designing and delivering continuing education programmes. The centre offers programmes in a variety of domains. These include Education, Development, Policy and Governance, Law as well as professional skills. The University will collaborate with the BTC to contribute through face to face/online mode. This MoU paves the way for broader initiatives and collaboration to further the cause of quality universal education.
