DIBRUGARH: After six days of intense search operation, the dead body of Diganta Kakoti was found floating in river Brahmaputra at Mohanaghat area in Dibrugarh on Monday morning.
The body has been identified as Diganta Kakoti, who was washed away with his brother while offering pind daan (offering homage to departed soul) at Mohanaghat area in Dibrugarh on November 8. “Today, we have found a body floating in the river at Mohanaghat area. The family members of Diganta Kakoti identified the body and confirmed the body was of him,” said an official. Another brother Ananta Kakoti’s body was not found after six days of search operation by the SDRF-NDRF team. According to reports, Diganta fell on the river while going to offering the pind, his younger brother jumped in the river to rescue his elder brother and from then they were missing. The incident was reported at 8.45 am at Mohanaghat area in Dibrugarh on November 8.
