Body of Missing Kaziranga Forest Department's Forester Recoverd

According to reports, the deceased forester of the Kaziranga National Park family has suspected it to be a pre-planned murder.

GUWAHATI: The dead body of a Kaziranga Forester has been recovered today near the Amkathani forest camp of Bagari Reserve Forest.

The dead body has been identified as Wahidur Rahman who reportedly went missing since July 6. As per sources, the forest official team of Kaziranga visited the spot where the dead body was recovered.

The family further said that even though a search operation was led by the forest security team, it was unsatisfactory for them.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has filed an FIR demanding a separate investigation in the case.

Earlier, a forest guard from Bagri range of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve went missing last Tuesday. Wahidur Rahman, who is a resident of Chhaygaon in Boko district, is going through a massive search operation.

Bibit Dihingia, Bagri Forest Ranger, said that Rahman has been missing since last Tuesday. They have launched an intensive search operation for his rescue. He said that elephants and drones have been utilized in their search operation but no clues or hints of his whereabouts yet.

According to Dihingia, the forest security guard was accounted for to be under the influence of alcohol during his duty hours. Sources said that Rahman was posted at the Amakathani forest camp under Bagri Forest range. One of the largest Assam parks, the forest camp is situated close to the Brahmaputra River.
