DIBRUGARH: A body was found floating on the Brahmaputra River at Mothala in the Maijan area in Dibrugarh on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Shiv Shankar Yadav (53), who was missing after a boat capsized on June 19, along with three other persons at Rohmoria. The locals first sighted the body floating on the river. They immediately informed the police.

"The police recovered the body from the river and sent it for post mortem to AMCH," said a local resident. Four persons crossing the Brahmaputra in a country boat went missing after it capsized in the river in Rohmoria area of the Dibrugarh district on Sunday. The incident took place at around 10 am when the boat with nine people, including the boatman and his helper, was going from Polobhonga Chapori to Balijan ghat, situated 7-km away. The seven passengers on the boat were all milkmen and vegetable sellers who were supposed to sell their goods in the Sunday market at Balijan ghat.
