BONGAIGAON: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bongaigaon district administration and Bongaigaon Refinery, Indian Oil Corporation Limited was signed on Friday.
On behalf of Bongaigaon district administration, Dr. M.S. Lakshmi Priya, BongaigaonDeputy Commissioner, and from Bongaigaon Refinery, IOCL, Sita Baruah, Deputy General Manager, CC & CSR signed a MoU on Friday in the office chamber of the Bongaigaon Deputy Commissioner. According to the MoU, IOCL Bongaigaon will provide financial assistance for setting up a drinking water project at Garopara village under Bongaigaon Revenue Circle. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 26 lakh.
Bongaigaon Refinery, IOCL, will be offering this assistance for enhancing drinking water facilities under its Corporate Social Responsibility endeavour. IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery, Dhaligaon had earlier signed various MoUs for contributing to the development of the community under CSR. Concretization of storm water drain in village Barpathar with an estimated cost of Rs 80.87 lakh, installation of sound system and providing furniture at Birjhora Public Library, Bongaigaon with an estimated cost of Rs 19 lakh, construction of separate toilet block and dining hall at Birjhora Girls' High School, Bongaigaon with an estimated cost of Rs 40 lakh, construction of new library building at Birjhora Kanya Mahabidyalaya, Bongaigaon with an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh, sitting arrangement with carpeted floor in Rabindra Bhavan Cultural Auditorium at Bongaigaon with an estimated cost of Rs 38.1 lakh and setting up of additional 1000 standalone solar street light system in Bongaigaon district with an estimated cost of Rs 27 lakh are such earlier joint ventures of Bongaigaon district administration and IOCL, Bongaigaon Refinery. The new MoU signed is expected to play an important role in speeding up all-round development of the society.
