BONGAIGAON: Kakoijana Reserve Forest is the home to more than 500 Golden Langurs and other rare endangered species encompassing 17.2016 sq. km area of rich bio-diversity, flora and fauna. These Golden Langurs many times are injured or die due to electrocution by the bare conductor of HT (11 K.V) and LT(.440 K.V) electric lines.

Taking this into serious consideration, initiatives have been taken by the Bongaigaon district administration under APDCL for conversion of bare conductor of HT (High Tension) and LT (Low Tension) electric line networks into insulated AB cables at Kakoijana, Rabhapara and Ujanpara area of Bongaigaon district for the safety of the endangered species of Golden Langur available in these particular areas.

The work is now under progress and approximately 60 per cent of targeted work has already been completed and a portion of insulated cable of LT and HT lines was charged recently. Accordingly, rest of the work will be completed very soon depending upon the weather conditions.
