Bongaigaon Road Safety Committee meeting held in DC’s office

BONGAIGAON: The 3rd meeting of District Road Safety Committee, Bongaigaon was held on Sunday in the conference hall of DC’s office under the chairmanship of Nabadeep Pathak, the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, District Road Safety Committee, Bongaigaon.

Swapnanil Deka, the Superintendent of Police, Bongaigaon, Mogen Narah, ADC, General Manager, NHIDCL, officers of NHAI, Superintendent Engineer, PWRD, District Transport Officer, Circle Officers, and other officials attended the meeting and discussed road safety measures in respect of Bongaigaon district to reduce 10% of road accidents in the district. Signages and zig zag barriers, rumble strips on the National Highway, drive against drunken driving and bikers without helmet, suspension of driving license for fatal accidents were suggested as measures to reduce road accidents.

The stakeholders were asked to rectify the faults of road and related matters so that road accidents can be reduced. Nabadeep Pathak, the Deputy Commissioner, asked the stakeholders to implement drives vigorously so that road accidents can be reduced in the district. The Deputy Commissioner asked officers of APDCL to install insulated wires through the stretch of village-area of Kakoijana Reserve Forest which is popular for Golden Languor.
