Book on painting released at Doomdooma

Kakali Devi Baruah’s maiden venture ‘Chitra Kalar Prathamik Parichay Kosh’(a vocabulary of basic introduction to art of painting) was released at a book inauguration

DOOMDOOMA: Kakali Devi Baruah's maiden venture 'Chitra Kalar Prathamik Parichay Kosh'(a vocabulary of basic introduction to art of painting) was released at a book inauguration meeting organized along with Jogesh Das commemorative function at Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) Bhaban on Thursday with president Bimala Baruah in the chair. Veteran artist and poet Rajen Khound inaugurated the book.

In his speech inaugurator of the book artist Khound expressed the hope that the book would be able to fulfil a long-felt need of the learners to have a preliminary acquaitance of the art of painting. He read out two of his self-composed poems especially written for the occasion.

The meeting was also addressed by Mala Baruah Kakati, Principal, Doomdooma Junior College and Journalist Pensioner Dhiren Deka - who were all praise for Kakali Devi Baruah's effort to write such a book for young painters.

Kakali Devi Baruah who teaches education at Doomdooma Junior College had the cover of the book done by her younger daughter Richita Baruah and the title chosen by her husband Deepak Ranjan Baruah. On request she presented a song to the enjoyment of the audience. The programme which was anchored by Deben Deka, Secretary, DSXX was also attended by Arjun Baruah, President, Tinsukia Zila Xahitya Xabha, Rumi Khaleng, Assistant Professor, Doomdooma College and Deepak Ranjan Baruah Associate Professor, Doomdooma College and social activist Gobinda Phukan among others. The programme came to an end with singing of Axam Sangeet "Oh mor aponar desh".
