JAMUGURIHAT: A book titled Expressions of the mind in words written by a nine-year old child, Lakshayjoy Kalita was released by eminent writer Dilip Kumar Bhattacharya at a function held at Kusumtola near Jamugurihat on August 30.
The meeting was chaired by Suren Kalita, retired librarian of Tyag Bir Hem Baruah College. Attending the function as a distinguished guest, Dharmeswar Hazarika, retired Principal of Pachighat Government College, praised the talent of child writer Lakshayjoy Kalita and appealed to children to follow the path of creative writing since childhood.
Before the meeting, floral tribute was paid in front of the portrait of Anjali Kalita, the grandmother of the writer. Lakshayjoy Kalita is a Class IV student of Gurukul, Tezpur. He is a classical singer who has attained Madhyama degree in vocal music from Vadkhande University.
Expressions of the mind in words is a collection of 20 essays with pictorial illustrations. Golap Kalita, retired Head of the Department of English, THB College, Jamugurihat and the grandfather of the child writer, offered vote of thanks.
