Booklet launched at Baksa on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the State Bank of India Foundation supported SBI Gram Seva programme implemented by Guwahati based NGO

BAKSA: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the State Bank of India Foundation supported SBI Gram Seva programme implemented by Guwahati based NGO Assam Centre for Rural Development (ACRD) organised a programme to launch a booklet of the successes of the programme and to officially hand over the programme to the local community as it completed three years.

The State Bank of India Foundation, the CRS arm of State Bank of India launched the SBI Gram Seva programme in October 2017 for the holistic development of five underdeveloped and remote villages in Baksa district. The programme also focused on the convergence of government welfare schemes for the poor and to bring more awareness among the rural communities.

The programme was attended by Surabhi Bhattacharya, Regional Manager, State Bank of India; Raj Kumar Das, Lead District Manger, State Bank of India, Baksa; Nakul Ch Brahma, Director, Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Kumarikata; and members from the local communities.

"The Gram Seva programme has changed the lives of many people in these remote villages with the support of the SBI Foundation. On behalf of the bank, we will extend whatever help is required for speedy disbursal of loans to needy people in these areas," said Surabhi Bhattacharya, Regional Manager, State Bank of India, stated a press release.
