Border Security Force apprehends cattle and drug smugglers in Dhubri

In three separate operations, troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended five smugglers

GUWAHATI: In three separate operations, troops of Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended five smugglers. One of them was apprehended along with a total of 3,200 Yaba tablets and others were apprehended along with cattle heads from bordering areas of Fekamari village under South Salamara district and Sarkar Para village under Dhubri district.

Acting on tip-off, on specific information of Field G Team Dhubri, BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Ashmeralga of 06 Bn BSF carried out a special joint operation with Kharuabandha Police rep in general area of Fekamari village, PS Kharuabandha under South Salamara district (Assam). The joint operation party succeeded to apprehend an Indian drug smuggler along with 3,200 Yaba tablets. The smuggler has been identified as Minu Mia (40), a resident of Sonapur.

In second operation, on tip-off, on July 12, BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) ODA of 41 Bn BSF observed a suspicious movement of miscreants on Indo-Bangladesh International Border, on being challenged them, the miscreants tried to fled away from the spot by taking advantage of darkness. But due to alertness of troops two Indian cattle smugglers along with six cattle heads were apprehended. The apprehended cattle smugglers have been identified as Rafiqul Islam (22) and Attowar Hossain (29). The accused along with the seized items have been handed over to Sukhchar Police Station for further legal action.

In third operation, on tip-off, on the same day, BSF troops of Border Out Post (BOP) Mahamaya Char of 41 Bn BSF apprehended two Indian cattle smugglers along with three cattle. The apprehended cattle smugglers have been identified as Aminul Islam (38) and Nojmil Haque (31).

The smugglers along with seized items have been handed over to PS- Sukhchar for further legal action, stated a release.
