Border Security Force seizes Yaba tablets hid in Alto car in Silchar

Acting on specific input from its own intelligence source, BSF planned and conducted an operation on Thursday

SILCHAR: Acting on specific input from its own intelligence source, BSF planned and conducted an operation on Thursday around mid past noon and intercepted one Maruti Alto car bearing no ML 04-B-3893 near the village of Dharakuna close to Fakira Bazar along NH -37 and 4 km from 7 Bn BSF HQ located at Maizdhi. Immediately local police of Karimganj was informed and they rushed to the spot. The seized items were opened and counted before the local police. 9,600 Yaba tablets and one Vivo mobile were recovered.

Total value of the seizure is estimated around Rs 49.5 lakh. The seized tablets were handed over to Karimganj Police for registration of case against the accused. The person apprehended with seized tablets has been identified as Amir Ali of village Umapati ward 7, Longai, under Ambarkhana police station of the border district.
