BPF And BJP Likely To Form Alliance Ahead Of Assam By Poll

However, no official confirmation was made but Hagrama Mohilary who led the BPF said that the alliance is almost final with the saffron party.

Guwahati: In a recent political development, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is mulling to form an alliance with BJP once again after the regional party had broken the tie with BJP ahead of the Bodoland Territorial Council poll last year.

However, no official confirmation was made but Hagrama Mohilary who led the BPF said that the alliance is almost final with the saffron party.

He said that his party wants to join the hand of the BJP again and he also held a meeting with the Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and our alliance is almost final.

"The official announcement is awaited," Mohilary said.

"We will fight in Gossaigaon seat and will win. BPF will help BJP candidates in Bhabanipur seat also," he added. However, already BJP's ally in the BTC, the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) too has given their candidates in two other seats including Gossaigaon.

Earlier, Hagrama Mohilary the chairperson of Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and former Chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) has appealed to the chief minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma to conduct a high-level probe through CBI over the recent encounter incident taken place between the Kokrajhar Police and allegedly 2 ULB cadres. Hagrama Mohilary on his Facebook has written that an appeal to the CM of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for the interest of peace and tranquility of the Bodoland region to initiate a high-level probe through CBI over the recent encounter incident taken place between the Kokrajhar Police and allegedly 2 ULB cadres.

Also an appeal to all the Quarters for upholding harmony and social integrity in the Bodoland region by abjuring any sort of violence", he wrote.
