BPF Chief Hangrama Mohilary visits Jainari Bathow Ashram ahead of BTC polls

Hagrama Mohillary has been visiting temples and places of worship seeking blessings ahead of the polls. He exuded confidence that BPF would win with a solid majority

Kokrajhar: With just days to go for the Bodoland Territorial Council elections, BPF chief Hagrama Mohillary has been visiting temples and places of worship. Mohillary visited the temple in Jainari Bathow Ashram in Kokrajhar and sought blessings ahead of the elections scheduled to be held in December this year.

Mohilary expressed confidence that BPF would win the elections with a thumping majority and would head the Council one more time. Governor rule would continue till the time elections are not held, Mohilary said adding that it should be held in the first week of December.

Mohilary had earlier said that his party would win 28 seats in the upcoming BTC elections and for the fourth time in a row, head the Council. Dates for the elections are yet to be announced. BPF would be contesting in 37 seats.

He had said that an all religion prayer programme would be organised in all primary level from 27th October after Durga Puja celebration to ensure free and fair BTC elections. He said that a women's mass gathering would also be held at block level across th four districts of the BTR – Baksa, Udalguri, Kokrajhar and Chirang.

An interactive session with village headmen and intellectuals of the society would also be organised ahead of the BTC elections.
